Na přelomu šedesátých a sedmdesátých let se proslavila dlouhými a divokými improvizacemi během koncertních vystoupení. V tvorbě pracovala s vlivy nejrůznějších hudebních stylů od rocku a psychedelie, přes folk a bluegrass, až třeba ke gospelu, jazzu nebo reggae. Rozpadla se v roce 1995, kdy zemřela vůdčí osobnost skupiny, kytarista a zpěvák Jerry Garcia. V roce 2007 skupina obdržela Grammy za celoživotní přínos. Záznam z prvního turné, které skupina absolvovala mimo Ameriku. V roce 1972 odehrála 22 vystoupení v šesti evropských zemích. Vybrané momenty z této evropské cesty jsou při příležitosti padesátého výročí nově zremasterovany a vycházejí na 3LP nebo 2CD. Navíc je k dispozici také kompletní záznam z londýnského vystoupení. |
