An innovative collaborative documentary, 101 was co-directed by acclaimed team of husband and wife directors D.A. Pennebaker (Dont Look Back) and Chris Hegedus (The War Room) with active creative input from Depeche Mode, who had launched an exclusive fan contest by offering an appearance in a Depeche Mode movie as a prize. 101's narrative line, with contest winners traveling across America to attend Depeche Mode's landmark concert at the Rose Bowl, is a cinematic precursor to the youth culture trend in "reality TV" programs. 101 by Depeche Mode captures the electrifying synergy between the band and its fans. This new HD edition has been meticulously updated using 4k scans of the reels from the original film. The Blu-ray includes three previously unreleased bonus performances of "A Question of Lust", "Sacred" and "Something To Do" plus the official "Everything Counts" promotional video. Other contents of the new box set include: a 48-page behind-the-scenes photo book on the day of the concert; a 20 "x 30" replica of the original poster of the film released in theaters in the United States; Anton Corbijn's 16-page Photo Mode book like the one featured in the original album version; a double CD consisting of 20 tracks of the original version of the concert 101; access to 4K downloads of the film, bonus performances and 24-bit audio files of the concert version. The two DVDs in the set contain the original extras from the 2003 DVD version of Depeche Mode - 101, which are exclusive to DVD discs. |
