The group’s career began with “If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody” (original by James Ray) and their own “I’m Telling You Now”, both reached number 2 in the U.K. in 1963. The band’s stage act was enlivened by the comic antics of the 5-foot-3-inch-tall (1.60m) Freddie Garrity, who would bounce around the stage with arms and legs flying. They were a band that putted fun in Rock & Roll and deserve to be better known today. |
